MAVIR provides for the reliable, efficient and secure operationof Hungarian Power System and the necessary reserves in the power plants and the grid. MAVIR supervises and accumulates network assets and performs the renewals, maintenances and improvements needed for the proper and safe electricity supply. The Company ensures the uninterrupted operation of electricity market and its further expansion and access thereto for the system users on equal basis. MAVIR processes data received from the participants of electricity supply. The Company coordinates the operation of Hungarian Power System with the adjacent networks and the international cooperation. MAVIR compiles the network development strategy for the future and makes proposals for the development of power plant pool.

 

The Company monitors the condition of Hungarian transmission network and interconnections and coordinates the maintenance plans of distribution licensees and decides which disconnection can be permitted and which one cannot in order to continuously have a safe supply in good quality. Additionally, MAVIR provides for the network maintenances needed to improve the operation safety indices and execution of renewals. MAVIR also provides for the preservation of network assets (transmission lines, substations and equipment in substations), their accumulations and the coordination and execution of works in compliance with the laws, network development strategy and owner’s expectations.
